A hand cranked (Genecon) generator is connected to a large inductor (an Iron core electromagnet). The generator handle is turned and the class is asked what will happen when the handle is released. Will it keep turning in the same direction as when charging the inductor? Or will it reverse direction?
Connect the Genecon generator to the terminals on the electromagnet. Turn the handle quickly and release.
